Ammo Magazine publishes short-run illustrated books and magazines. I founded Ammo around 6 years ago and am responsible for all aspects of the brand from designing the publications, selecting artists, promotion and designing/building the website. I recently built a new responsive site to better showcase the artists involved (with a filterable directory) and the various publications.
Bespoke WordPress CMS
The new Ammo Magazine website is responsive and runs on a bespoke WordPress CMS. Key features of the site include an Artist Directory that can be filtered by Style or Working Method, an online shop (the majority of the Ammo sales are via this shop) and other pages including a downloadable wallpapers section, an events page and a colourful blog.
I'd wanted to give the Ammo website an overhaul for some time. The previous site wasn't responsive, was completely static and it wasn't great for finding and viewing details of the artists involved.
It was a large project to take on as I was responsible for all aspects of the redesign including design and development of the new website, a conversion to a bespoke WordPress CMS, product photography/descriptions alongside contacting and collecting information/images from hundreds of artists.
The new site showcases the artists and products in a much clearer fashion and it also looks great on all screens and devices.
